This little guy used some of his birthday money (he got waaaay too much from his grandparents) to buy himself a Lego Technic set!
Browsing all the different Lego sets at Makro must’ve taken about half an hour (ok, maybe a little longer) for him to finally make up his mind… I’ll admit – even I was excited when he finally bought it – hehe 😉
It took him the whole afternoon and then a bit of the next morning to get it built. (Admittedly, this set is rated for ages 9 – 16.) Definitely a better challenge than his regular Lego sets!
Usually he builds from the instruction booklet you get in the box. But Lego Technic actually has an app you can download with all the building instructions. Wow!! Well done to Lego on this app!! You can zoom in on the image, rotate it (3D simulation) and it even has animation showing you exactly where to insert/build each piece. Definitely worth checking out!!
This particular set is labelled Race Kart and even has another model (Track Car) that you can build using the same pieces (I’m sure he’ll be breaking it up soon to build that model). And to top it all off, the piston in the engine moves when you push the car!! But wait – there’s more (sorry Verimark) – you can even change the gear so that the piston moves fast or slow!
Ok, so maybe I’m also hooked and will be building one too 😉
